Senso-ji Temple

Tokyo's oldest and most significant Buddhist temple, Senso-ji dates back to 645 AD. The approach through the iconic Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) and the vibrant Nakamise shopping street is an experience unto itself. The five-story pagoda and main hall are especially atmospheric during evening illumination.
