About This Experience
自山道上行，振衣亭下，安眠着一位胸怀激烈，流芳百世的先烈，他就是南通人——白雅雨。白雅雨，名毓昆，字雅雨，号铣玉。清同治七年（公元1868年）生于南通，居城南白陆巷。自小天资聪慧，18岁时考中秀才，为州首（第一名）。先后入江阴南 书院和上海南洋公学就读。光绪二十六年（公元1890年）后受聘于南洋公学附中、澄衷学堂执教史地课，1908年受聘于北洋法政学堂，同年与张蔚西一同创建我国第一个地理学会——中国地学会，任编辑部长；1910年创办我国第一个地理学期刊——《地学杂志》，是我国最早的爱国地理学家。白雅雨少怀
